A welcoming environment starts with how people communicate. Deaf Awareness Training gives your team space to learn and ask questions.
For teams in government, education, business and community services, including organisations working with NDIS participants.
Sessions run for 1.5 to 2 hours. Book one in person, with a Deaf trainer at your workplace, or live online over video call for teams in any location. A self-paced online course is in development: $95 + GST per person ($104.50 including GST), with 12 months' access, ready around mid October 2026.

to know.
Is this an Auslan language course?
Deaf Awareness Training focuses on Deaf culture, experiences and communication. It is not a full Auslan language course.
Can you come to us, or is it online?
Both. A Deaf trainer can run the session in person at your workplace, or live online over video call. A self-paced online course is in development.
What should we include in an enquiry?
Tell us about your team, the number of participants, your location, preferred dates and what you would like to learn. AC will discuss suitable arrangements with you.
How much does training cost?

Can the Employment Assistance Fund help?
If you have a Deaf employee, the Employment Assistance Fund may help cover some of the cost of Deaf Awareness Training. Check your eligibility with JobAccess (opens in a new tab).
